Weird Medicine: The Podcast

Since 2007, Weird Medicine has been "the first and still only uncensored medical show in broadcast radio history" on the Opie and Anthony Channel on SiriusXM. Now, the same crew that continues to shock, horrify, entertain and inform the satellite airwaves is producing a weekly podcast! This is a medical show for people who would never listen to a medical show on the internet (or anywhere else). If you have a question you'd like answered on the show, call the voicemail line at 347 766 4323 (347 POO HEAD) any time. Remember, Weird Medicine: The Podcast is an entertainment show and Doctor Steve is not your doctor. Always double check anything you hear on this show with your regular medical provider(s). *Warning: Weird Medicine contains extreme language and may not be suitable for younger listeners (actually, it's pretty unsuitable for just about everyone, so listen at your own risk)*

Jul 18, 2012

Dr Scott, Dr Kay, Jefferson the Shyster and DoubleVasectomy Todd join Dr Steve to answer listener calls.   After the technical difficulties of the last show, we finally sort-of made it work in the new studio.   Also a guy called wondering if it's safe to drink a certain fluid that not all anatomists even agree exists.

Jul 15, 2012

We work out the bugs in the new studio at the listeners' expense.   It's not fit for regular broadcast, but if you can deal with the glitches there are a few gems in here.  BONUS EPISODE

Jul 11, 2012

The history of the feud between Dr Steve's 5 year old and East Side Dave is reviewed as the Davey Mac Sports Show joins RiotCast.  Dr Steve, PA John, Jefferson the Lawyer, GVAC and Addadicktome Todd take live calls.  By the way, we are having SERIOUS technical difficulties with our new studio computer (levels dropping suddenly for no reason, etc).  If anyone is an expert in Windows 7 and audio issues, please email Dr Steve!

Jul 4, 2012

My mother in law (the one that thinks a "frappe'" is called a "FLOOPY") does a live read for Adam and Eve and a new star is born.  We had a ton of live calls tonight, thanks to desperate tweeting on my side, and superb call screening by Brian from RadioFreaks.tv (check out their show, it's pretty good for a non-riotcast production :-)) Topics ranged from complicated back surgery to why vaginal insufflation may be a bad idea  (don't know what that is?  Better listen then!)

So far this is my favorite podcast.  I think we're kind of getting it.  I have some ideas for future shows that I think our listeners will really enjoy so stay tuned!

yr obt svt,

Dr steve

Live calls!  Painful vaginas!  Rectal Fissures!  Testosterone!  This show has it all, except for a professional delivery by its hosts.

Topics include:  Post episiotomy vaginal pain, weird labial cysts, lots of testosterone questions, and a guy with a hot doctor and an embarassing medical issue.

May 22, 2012

Horrific.  In one word that's my description of this show.  We announced our partnership with RiotCast, ascended to #24 on iTunes, and this dropped THIS load on our listeners.  We're doing the podcast AFTER recording 2 hours of SiriusXM shows and the drinking and fatigue are starting to show already.  I'm thinking we'll start doing podcasts on Saturday afternoons, but we're open to ideas...we just have to find a time that we can plan on.   Thanks to Big A for taking pity on us and calling in live.

May 15, 2012

May is "National Masturbation Month"!  Well, we never needed an excuse for that particular activity, but it gave us a chance to rehash stories of our early attempts at "self love".  In addition, we discuss "Vaginismus" (spasm of the pubococcygeal muscle causing difficult penetration and painful intercourse), the health risks of eating boogers (it's all in the nose-picking), and a bunch of other malarkey.  We have a visit from "Dr Paul", too.  Dr Paul was supposed to be our expert on foot problems but dropped a big doody when we asked him about a guy with an unusual issue.

May 14, 2012

In this episode, we introduce the idea of "Weird Medicine" and review the history of the show while playing a million old testicle and toe-jam questions from the original XM 202 live show.  Along the way we take live phone calls about why low-carb diets cause constipation (answer: hell if I can figure it out), medical uses of urine (there are none, basically...OOPS I GAVE IT AWAY), Saturday night palsy, night sweats and some other crap. Oh, and we discuss why we're still not professional broadcasters after 5 years of doing this and then prove it with one flub after another.  HA!  Welcome to the new RiotCast show;  I'm sure the network is thrilled that they signed a couple of idiots from Tennessee, medical license or no.  enjoy!

 yr obt svt,

 Steve
